Voces Novae, Louisville, KY
Established in 1993, the name "Voces Novae" (new voices) reflects the group’s mission: uplifting the human spirit through choral excellence.
Founded in 1993 by Frank A. Heller III, Voces Novae was conceived to awaken the highest musical artistry, foster camaraderie among its singers, and share performances that inspire audiences and deepen cultural connections.
“My hope is that this music will inspire and uplift people to think, ‘Oh, that's something that I can carry with me. That's something I can take and use in my own way of life.’” Frank A. Heller, III, Founder & Artistic Director (1993–2019)
Voces Novae is one of Louisville’s most treasured musical institutions — a semi-professional, selectively auditioned choir known for its artistry, innovation, and community spirit.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Angela Vaughn Hampton, the ensemble brings together singers from across Louisville and Southern Indiana to perform an eclectic repertoire that spans early chant, European classics, and living modern composers, with a special emphasis on a cappella works and contemporary American music.
