Sara Rond

Conductor

Mrs Rond serves as Associate Director of Choirs at Wylie East High School. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Orff-Schulwerk Levels Certification from Southern Methodist University.  At East, Mrs Rond directs Bel Canto and Treble Choir and assists with the other eight ensembles in the choral program.

 

Before joining Wylie East, Mrs Rond was associate director of choirs at Cooper Junior High and Draper Intermediate where she directed choirs that received superior ratings at evaluations and festivals. Her joy of teaching began in Garland ISD where she taught elementary music for Title One schools, elementary choir and directed the 4th grade Garland Children’s Chorus, training the students that would later perform as 5th graders at TMEA. Mrs Rond enjoyed sharing her passion for teaching by presenting workshops for her colleagues in the district. During her time in elementary music, Mrs Rond received more than $20,000 in grant monies to supply her Title-One music classrooms with instruments, music, equipment and training. She is passionate about bringing quality music education to all students.

 

Mrs Rond serves as an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Choral Directors Association.
