Mark Nabholz

Conductor

Dr. Mark Nabholz serves as Director of Music at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to joining Trinity’s staff in 2021, he was tenured Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Mississippi College where, in addition to conducting the nationally recognized MC Singers, he taught conducting and choral literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The MC Singers under his leadership toured domestically and internationally and won a Southeast regional Emmy® with Mississippi Public Broadcasting for their 2017 broadcast performance of Ēriks Ešenvalds’ “Stars.”

In addition to his academic and church conducting, he has extensive experience leading civic choruses, most recently six seasons with The Mississippi Chorus, a 120-voice choir which under his leadership maintained a busy performance schedule of major choral works with orchestra.

Dr. Nabholz holds degrees from the University of South Carolina (DMA), the Eastman School of Music (MM), and Houghton College (BMus). His major teachers include Larry Wyatt, Donald Neuen, and Donald Bailey. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), having served on state boards in South Carolina and Mississippi, and of the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO), where he recently completed a two-year term as Chief Editor of Publications and National Executive Board member.

Mark and his wife, Fran, reside in Montgomery and have four grown children and two adorable grandchildren.
