Laura Fowler

Soprano

Laura’s love of singing began early and led her to study with Sarah Harpham and Rosalind Roberts at the University of Warwick, where she was awarded a choral scholarship in 2002. She went on to earn her Diploma in Singing Performance from The ABRSM and is proud to be an alumna of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain (1996-2002) and Laudibus (2001–2007).

As a soloist, Laura has delighted in bringing to life a varied range of choral works from Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem, and Beethoven’s Mass in C, to Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace and Dan Forrest’s LUX: A Dawn from on High. A keen champion of contemporary composers, she has also enjoyed performing the music of Eriks Esenvalds, Taylor Scott Davis, Philip Stopford, and Ola Gjeilo.

Alongside her musical journey, Laura spent 18 years in primary education, where she shared her love of music with enthusiasm, directing school choirs and introducing many young voices to the thrills of choral singing. Laura has recently been appointed Development Consultant for Kent based charity Friends of the Vox. Remaining passionate about choral musicianship, she now sings with Vox Anima Chamber Choir and Vox Populi under the direction of Dr. James Meaders. She is thrilled to be performing once more with Vox Anima London!
