Isabelle Haile

Soprano

Isabelle Haile is an Ethiopian-Romanian soprano with a Masters in Vocal Performance from the Royal Academy of Music, where she received the DipRAM for an outstanding recital. Supported by the ABRSM and the Countess of Munster Trust during her RAM studies, she began her musical journey in Moldova and continued at the Cantoria of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia.

Isabelle won the Audience Prize and joint Second Prize at the 2024 Handel Singing Competition and was a semi-finalist at the Bach Singers Prize. Isabelle performs with renowned ensembles such as Sarum Consort, Coro Spezzato, Sonoro, and Eboracum Baroque. As a member of London Voices, she contributes to Hollywood soundtracks and choral music anthologies by Oxford University Press.

In November 2022, Isabelle recorded her first solo contemporary song cycle, "Metropolis" by Bernard Hughes, with Grammy-winning pianist Christopher Glynn and the album Songs for our Times was released in October 2023.

Recent engagements include Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with The Mozartists, Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas with Hampstead Garden Opera, and her debut at Zurich Opera House in Lessons in Love and Violence by George Benjamin. 

Isabelle will debut at the Halle Handel Festival in June 2025.
