First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir, Peoria, Illinois, USA

Douglas Grogan is the Director of Music Ministries at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria, IL where he directs the Sanctuary Choir, Bells of Praise, and seasonal orchestra. Mr. Grogan created and manages the MusicatFirst series which brings in a variety of performing and worship artists.  In addition to his ministry at FUMC Peoria, he directs the twenty-four voice Chamber Singers at Illinois Central College and teaches music theory preparatory courses. Prior to moving to Illinois, he directed choral and orchestral ensembles to middle and high school aged students in the Brevard Public School system for six years. Mr. Grogan’s choirs have received invitations to participate in festivals at Carnegie Hall in New York, New York (USA) and for other denominational events in the United Methodist Church.  Mr. Grogan holds Bachelor degrees in Music and Biology from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia (USA) and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi (USA). He has served on the Board of Directors for the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, the Townsend School of Music Alumni Board of Mercer University, and as past chairman of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference Chapter of the Fellowship of United Methodist in Music & Worship Arts.
