First Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, TX

The choir of First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, TX, is known for its rich history of excellence and dedication to sacred music. Under the leadership of conductor Philip Smith, the choir contributes significantly to the worship experience every week, bringing music to life for a congregation that dates back to 1854.  

The choir has achieved notable success both locally and nationally.  They have a portfolio that includes multiple albums that showcase their commitment to excellence in choral music. Their talent has also taken them to prestigious venues like the stage of Carnegie Hall. In addition to their worship services and albums, the choir has an impressive repertoire of cantatas and major works. They have skillfully prepared and performed masterpieces such as Vivaldi’s Gloria, Trotta’s Magnificat, Forrest’s Lord of Glory and Te Deum, and Handel’s Utrecht Te Deum. They also routinely prepare and perform complete oratorios, most recently Handel’s Messiah and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
