Faith Baptist Bible College Chamber Choir, IA

The Faith Baptist Bible College Chamber Choir is the college’s premier vocal ensemble, comprised of auditioned singers from across the student body. Founded in 1921, Faith Baptist Bible College has maintained an active choral tradition since 1946, and the Chamber Choir represents the newest expression of this longstanding commitment to sacred choral music.

Established in 2019, the ensemble is devoted to the expressive and stylistically informed  performance of repertoire drawn from the historic canon of church music as well as carefully chosen modern works. The Chamber Choir has presented concerts throughout the United
States and has toured internationally in Europe, performing in churches, concert halls, and other significant settings.

In addition to its formal concert appearances, the ensemble regularly participates in community events, including performances at local and regional gatherings. The Chamber Choir was also privileged to take part in the New York City premiere of Dan Forrest’s CREATION as part of a collaborative performance of this major work.

Through these varied performances, the Chamber Choir seeks to share music in ways that reflect both artistic care and a desire to serve and encourage the communities and audiences it encounters.

Dr. Christopher Ellis serves as Chair of the Music Department and Director of Choral Activities at Faith Baptist Bible College, where he has led the choral program since 2019. He directs the college’s choral ensembles and teaches courses in conducting, musicianship, and music
ministry, working with students to develop vocal technique, musical understanding, and expressive ensemble singing. His work reflects a particular interest in the performance of sacred choral music and in cultivating performances marked by clarity, balance, and thoughtful
interpretation.
