Doug Grogan, First United Methodist Church

Located at the foot of Pikes Peak, First United Methodist Church is a congregation and choir that is open to all. The Chancel Choir has a long history of presenting historical major works, music of our contemporaries, and hosting local, regional, and international artists. The 50-60 voice choir has traveled internationally to participate in different tours and festivals over the years and is open to teenagers through senior adults.

Douglas Grogan is in his second year as the Director of Music and the Arts at First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  A native of Rome, Georgia, his love of music began as a boy singing in the Rome Boys Choir. He graduated from Mercer University (2001) with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in music, and earned his Master of Music in choral conducting from Mississippi College (2004).  As a music educator, Mr. Grogan has taught at the secondary and community college level. As a church musician he has served in the capacity of choir and handbell director at First United Methodist Church (Peoria, Illinois) and Advent Lutheran Church (Melbourne, Florida). 

Currently, he serves as the Vice President of Administration for the Fellowship of Worship Artists and also works with Vox Anima London.
