Auburn United Methodist Church Chancel Choir

The Auburn UMC Chancel Choir has been under the direction of Gary Klarenbeek for 21 years.  While the heartbeat of the choir’s mission is to lead worship each week, under Gary’s direction, the choir has performed extensively in Auburn with full orchestra to capacity audiences several times each year including annual patriotic pops performances, Christmas performances, and other special performances throughout the year.

They have performed with Sandi Patty and Larnelle Harris and also under the direction of the late Johnnie Carl, Dr. Don Neuen, Dr. Craig Jessop, and composers Mary McDonald and Heather Sorenson. They have performed in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City and Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

In June of 2021 the Chancel Choir performed four major performances in Utah as part of an extensive concert tour including St. George, Logan, and Salt Lake City including appearances in the Assembly Hall and Tabernacle on the grounds of Temple Square.

This performance in London marks the choir’s first international appearance.
